Sad about the result of Intelligence Squared Debate

I watched Intelligence Squared debate with keen interest on Bloomberg Television last night and the results were disappointing for me and countless like mine. It will be unfair not to acknowledge the flair and force of opposing team. It will also be unfair to say that the discussion was biased in any manner. What the discussion had for me??? Well...for one it clearly showed how ruthlessly our religion has been hijacked by that small minority who claim that nothing except war (I won't sully the respectable name of "Jihad" for this war of petty personal interests) can address the grievances of Muslim world and who are even ready to shed innocent Muslim and non-Muslim blood for their objectives.Secondly, the debate broke my illusion that our current lot of scholars can answer the questions in international community and particularly their people. Because of reckless attitude of some amongst us and very crafty planning of those who want to defame the name of our great religion, world is not ready to listen to our logic and arguments. This again made me realize that we need to change our direction and bring the true picture of religion before the world through our actions. Islam, the religion of peace, needs not change...We the muslims need to change and revert back to our glorious traditions of tolerance, harmony and co-existence...
A very fruitful debate for me with sad results in the end though....
